How To Sustain Good Oral Health

You may suppose you should see a dentist every half a year, but some people may not need to have dental check-ups so often and others may need more often.

A dentist will advise a date for your next exam based on how good your oral health is.

The time between dental exams depends on your oral health and your risk of future problems. It can vary from 3 to 9 months.
Why are dental exams important?

Dental exams help to prevent any dental problems and keep your oral health. Leaving problems untreated could make them more complicated and finance consuming to treat in the future, so we advise you to deal with problems early, or, if possible, prevent them all together and sustain good oral health.

During each check-up, your dentist will :

Will do a complete exam of your teeth/gums/mouth.
Ask if you have had any problems with your teeth, mouth or gum since your last visit and take a history of your general health
Ask about smoking and alcohol use, and give you an advice on your diet and teeth cleaning and flossing habits.Explain you about how to maintain your oral health.
After a proper assessment, your dentist will plan your next dental exam.

Generally, the better your oral health the longer you can wait for your next dental exam.

You may have appointments for other dental treatments such as fillings, dental scaling, and polishing, tooth extraction or emergency treatment.
